Cookham Dean Grand Prix

I realise that everybody has been focussed on the RWC for the past 6 or so weeks, but believe it or not, there were some other activities going on in the world that we managed to squeeze in. As long as they did not clash with the rugby that is!

Last week the first (as far as I am aware) Cookham Dean Gravity Grand Prix took place in the village. Great fun had by all and I honestly cannot tell you who enjoyed it more – adults or kids!

Flooding

A couple of people have asked whether we have been hit by the flooding that is happening in the UK at the moment. So far, so good – Bourne End has not suffered as you can see here (Tuesday 24/07) when compared to a normal day. Not quite the same angle, but you can get an idea.

As you can imagine the floods are all over the news 24/7 and a lot of people in the South West and the Cotswolds have been hit badly, as has the Oxford area – so I am not planning to work out of there this week!
