Birthdays

30 November, 2007 · Leave a Comment

The end of November always brings a rush of birthdays in our family – Angus, Sarah’s Dad Eric and Ruby all in quick succession. Ruby really enjoyed turning 2 – she really reveled in all of the birthday party activities, opened presents with glee and took great delight in singing “Happy Birthday” to everybody at the first opportunity. Chocolate cake was definitely a priority for her, and the mention of a “brown cow” got an instant response and an instant delivery of a new cup. Photo’s from the day below:

Nikita also had her end of junior school social event at the Blue Peter in Cape Town last weekend. Here are a selection of photo’s from the day:

The entire collection of photo’s from the day is now online here, if you want to get access, give us a shout.

And if anybody is wondering what happened to the Carphone Warehouse post – I moved it to here.

Catch-up

18 November, 2007 · 1 Comment

Things have been really manic – loads going on a work and Sarah has been really busy with the kids, so time to sit and update the site has just not been there. So this is a catch-up and catch-all post, with a quick summary of the latest going’s on in our household.

Halloween has come and gone, and in true style our girls were up for participating fully in the experience, from carving pumpkins to going trick or treating. Believe me, it was a new experience being overrun by a hoard of 4 foot tall scary characters when they arrived at our door; but the kids all really enjoyed the evening and had a blast.

Thomas is on quick grow as you can see from the photo’s, and the girls are very attentive big sisters that do not miss an opportunity to watch out for him and let us know when he needs some attention.

Winter is setting in, and along with the fast approaching cold and dark afternoon’s, we have started getting ready for school in 2008 if you can believe it. Isabella joins reception class next year and Nikita goes to high school. So we are in the middle of checking out schools and making some choices – we are really lucky here, great school and Isabella is really happy. The ex-southern hemisphere is proving to be challenging as usual, so sorting out schools is taking just a little longer (nuff said, if you get my drift).

It is difficult to believe that we are already speedily heading towards Christmas at the end of a year that will be remembered for many different reasons, both sad and happy. Finding time always seems to be a challenge, but my December resolution is to keep the site updated during the festive period, so that everybody can see what we are up to.
