All @ home again

19 September, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Everybody is home again. Total peace and calm reigns in the household and we are all getting 12 uninterupted hours of sleep. Well, if you believe all of that then you are obviously somebody that has never had children. ;-)

Sarah and Thomas were released from hospital as expected (Tuesday night) – everybody is doing well and today we start getting routines in place, if that is possible at this stage.

As promised – a couple of more photo’s have been added, but right now there is not much time to sit and work at the PC for very long. Thank you all the messages, emails etc. We will get back to you as soon as we get a chance.

hmmm, So this is my new little brotherHere is your dog, do you want to play with it?Ruby and Thomas

There is never a dull moment in our lives. While Sarah was in hospital we got the news that Nix had fractured her foot – nothing serious – updates on Nix’s page.

Our New Addition to the Family

Our new addition to the family has arrived! Thomas William Mason Peacey was born on 17th September weighing in at 8lbs 4oz. Both he and Sarah are doing well and there were no major complications, so we are all very chuffed!

All in all the labour was not too gruesome – at 17h30 there was not a lot going on, but after a lot of walking around the hospital (literally) everything kicked into serious gear at about 20h30 and at 21h06 he arrived safely. (All natural, just gas and air except for the last 10 minutes, when Sarah did not use anything)

Sarah and Thomas will be staying in hospital for 24 hours just for routine observation, so we anticipate that the whole family will be home together on Tuesday evening sometime. [Click on the thumbnails for the full size pictures]

For those of you that were wondering – all the names come from the family tree, and we have continued the family tradition of using his mothers maiden name as one of his names as well. I think that Pa would have been happy!

This Last Week

16 September, 2007 · Comments Off

What a week! There has been a real sense of anticipation, we are still looking forward to our new arrival and to a lesser extent to the rugby on Friday night. Prep is pretty much completed now for our impending arrival – all we are waiting for is for him/her to decide to appear. Sarah says that she has resigned herself to being permanently in this state and I am the one that is chomping on the bit to get things moving… but as we all know, there are no schedules to these events.

For those of you that live on another planet – it was the long awaited clash between the Springboks and England in the first round of the rugby world cup. As you can see below, we were well stocked with biltong and droe wors for the game (believe me a kg of droe wors does not last long in our household).

Without doubt, certainly for those of us here in the UK, the game was somewhat of a damp squib. Yes, a win was critical and we all were certain that the boks would, but the game left more questions than answers behind for me. England forgot to turn up for the game (with possibly the exception of Jason Robinson) and the boks did not really have to play either, they just seemed to go through the motions. We can only look forward and hope that the boks do not get complacent.

Hopefully the next post will be one updating you all with the arrival news – should be in the next couple of days hopefully.

Later ……
